Mr. Robert L. Sumwalt, Jr. founded Sumwalt Construction Company in 1979. Long time employees James L. Tupper, Jr. and C. Mike Metzger purchased the company in 1997, changing the name to Sumwalt Associates, Inc. Both are graduates of Clemson University, and together they have over 75 years of experience in the commercial construction industry.
